Who we are

Superior Rentals rents premium vacation properties in Madeira and Lisbon, Portugal, and is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at info@superior.rentals for any question about privacy or to exercise your rights.

What this policy covers

This policy covers this website. Bookings are completed on Lodgify, our booking provider, and the data you give during checkout is handled under their own privacy policy.

Information we collect

When you contact us, we collect the name, email address, subject and message you enter, and, if you fill them in, the property, dates and number of guests. We use this only to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation. The form is protected against automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile.

When you browse, our analytics tools record which pages you visit, roughly where you are in the world, the type of device and browser you use, and the site or search that brought you here.

When you book, you are taken to Lodgify and the booking details you enter there are collected by Lodgify, not by this website.

Cookies and local storage

Some storage is needed for the site to work: your chosen language, a local copy of the translations so pages load quickly, and your cookie choice. This stays in your browser and does not identify you.

We also use analytics cookies, through Google Analytics, to see which pages visitors use. These are active for every visitor from the first page you open, and they are listed as always active in the cookie settings panel. If you prefer not to be measured, you can block cookies in your browser settings, use private browsing, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Any other external service we might add later, such as an embedded tool or a marketing tag, runs only if you allow it in the cookie settings panel.

Services we use

We rely on a small number of providers to run this site: Google Analytics for audience measurement, Lodgify for bookings, Elfsight to display guest reviews, Cloudflare for delivery and spam protection, Supabase to host the site data, and Google Fonts and flagcdn for fonts and flag images. Each of these may receive technical data such as your IP address in order to serve the content.

Where your data is processed

We keep your data within the European Union wherever we can. Some of the providers above are based outside the EU or may transfer data outside it, in which case the transfer relies on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the European Commission standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a reasonable record of our dealings, after which they are deleted. Analytics data is kept according to the retention period configured in the analytics tools, and is used only in aggregate.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to info@superior.rentals and we will respond as soon as we can.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.

Changing your cookie settings

Use the cookie settings link at the bottom of any page to reopen the panel and change what you allow. Your choice is stored in your browser, so you may need to set it again on a different device or after clearing your browsing data.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the way we use data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and any significant change will be reflected there.
